Youth Program

This program is designed to meet the specific needs of girls between the ages of 14 and 18 years old. These participants are referred through the courts and area homeless shelters. Some are self-referred.

Many are unable to return home; others refuse because home is where the abuse first began. Minnesota statutes regarding youth require that services are provided with great care, and Breaking Free is sometimes limited as to the ways in which services may be provided. Child Protection Services must be involved in solving the complex problems of these young girls.

Breaking Free is currently leading efforts to establish partnerships and collaborations with youth services organizations resulting in expanded outreach efforts to the youth community.
