Outreach

Street Outreach

While much of sex trafficking has moved underground at strip clubs, massage parlors, brothels, and on-line "escort" services, street prostitution is still prevalent in the Twin Cities and is often the only opportunity we will have to reach many exploited women and girls. Our outreach workers provide street-based outreach to prostituted individuals to help build a rapport with them, let them know about Breaking Free’s programs and services, and provide hygiene kits, condoms and other seasonal items in an effort to meet their on-going needs. Outreach workers canvas areas in Minneapolis and St. Paul that are known to be high traffic areas for prostitution.

Prison Outreach
Breaking Free provides outreach, educational groups, intake assessments and case management to exploited women and girls in corrections facilities focusing on Ramsey/Hennepin/Olmsted County Corrections, Shakopee prison, Plymouth workhouse, and juvenile detention centers.

Breaking Free was established in October 1996, by Vednita Carter, Founder and President, as a non-profit organization serving women involved in systems of abuse, exploitation, and prostitution/sex trafficking.Phone: 651-645-6557
