Breaking Free is an Afro-centric social service agency with offices in predominantly African-American neighborhoods in St. Paul and provides services throughout Minnesota.

Eighty percent of the staff is African and African-American, half are survivors of prostitution. All of the members on the governing board are people of color; seven are African-American, one Native American.

The main office in St Paul is located in a large house that has been converted into 10 office spaces, a reception area, a large meeting room, a youth center and a large kitchen. A drop-in center is currently being added to provide crisis services to women and girls who come in straight from the streets, without restrictions regarding sobriety, health or cleanliness.
