Breaking Free provides expert trainings and presentations around the world on the issue of sex trafficking and the many diverse subjects related to it.

Topics include but are not limited to the following sessions, which are typically 1-6 hours in duration:

Sex Trafficking 101 – This 30 minute presentation provides an introduction to Breaking Free’s services and programs for victims and survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, an overview of sex trafficking in Minnesota, and ways to help.

Sex Trafficking 201: Dynamics of Prostitution and Sex Trafficking – The presentation provides a more in-depth look at the system of prostitution/sex-trafficking, definitions, methods of recruitment, and barriers to escape. The audience will also learn about the economics of sex trafficking and how the “demand” is driving the market for sexually exploited women and girls. The recommended time allotment for this presentation is 1- 1.5 hours, to ensure that all topics are covered and allow sufficient time for Q &A.

Sex Trafficking 101 for Churches – This 30 minute presentation provides a faith-based perspective on Breaking Free’s regular “Sex Trafficking 101” presentation, with specific ways for churches to get involved.

Sex Trafficking 101 for Students – This interactive presentation is designed to provide elementary, middle, and high school students with an overview of sex trafficking, with age-appropriate activities and guided discussion. The recommended time allotment for this presentation is 1 hour.

Community Advocacy – Audiences with a general awareness about sex trafficking will learn more about community advocacy and how they can be involved in prevention and intervention of sex trafficking. It is recommended that this presentation be combined with Breaking Free’s “Sex Trafficking 101.”

Pimp Culture and Methods of Recruitment – This presentation focuses exclusively on “pimp culture” and mentality, as well as methods used by traffickers to recruit and exploit victims. Recommended time allotment is 30 minutes-1 hour.

Engaging Men in the Fight Against Sex Trafficking – Geared towards men and boys, this presentation focuses specifically on how men can be engaged in the fight against sex trafficking. Audiences will learn about “pimp culture” and “demand culture,” and how to make an impact with prevention and intervention. Recommended time allotment is 30 minutes-1 hour.

Pornography, Pop Culture, and Sexual Exploitation – Audiences will learn about the history, psychology, and marketing, and exploitive nature of pornography, how “porn-culture” has saturated mainstream media and targeted both adults and youth, and understand how pornography correlates and contributes to sexual violence, including sex trafficking. The audience will also learn about resources for protecting children on the internet and dealing with sex addiction.  Due to the mature subject matter, it is recommended that the audience members be over 18 years of age. Recommended time allotment is 1 – 2 hours.

Combatting the Demand for Sex Trafficking – The presentation provides an in-depth look at the history, tradition, and impact of a “demand culture,” which contributes to the pornification and commodification of women and girls.  Audiences will learn about the economics of sex trafficking, how demand is driving the market for victims, and practical actions steps for combatting the demand.  Recommended time allotment is 1 hour.
