Breaking Free provides expert training and presentations around the world on the issue of sex trafficking and many related subjects.
Topics include but are not limited to the following sessions, which are typically 1-6 hours in duration:
This 30-minute presentation provides an introduction to services and programs for victims and survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation at Breaking Free, an overview of sex trafficking in Minnesota, and ways to help.
This presentation provides a more in-depth look at the systems of prostitution and sex trafficking, definitions, methods of recruitment, and barriers to escape. The audience will also learn about the economics of sex trafficking and how pornography and the “demand” is driving the market. The recommended time allotment for this presentation is 1 to 1.5 hours, to ensure that all topics are covered and allow sufficient time for Q&A.
This 30-minute presentation provides a faith-based perspective on the regular “Sex Trafficking 101” presentation, with specific ways for churches to get involved.
This interactive presentation is designed to provide elementary, middle, and high school students with an overview of sex trafficking, with age-appropriate activities and guided discussions. The recommended time allotment for this presentation is 1 hour.
Audiences with a general awareness about sex trafficking will learn more about community advocacy and how everyone can be involved in prevention and intervention regarding sex trafficking. It is recommended that this presentation be combined with Breaking Free’s “Sex Trafficking 101.”
This presentation focuses exclusively on “pimp culture” and mentality, as well as methods used by traffickers to recruit and exploit victims. Recommended time allotment is 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Geared towards men and boys, this presentation focuses specifically on how men can be engaged in the fight against sex trafficking. Audiences will learn about “pimp culture” and “demand culture,” and how to make an impact with prevention and intervention. Recommended time allotment is 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Audiences will learn about the history, psychology, marketing, and exploitive nature of pornography. We talk about how “porn-culture” has saturated mainstream media and targeted both youth and adults. We explain how pornography correlates and contributes to sexual violence, including sex trafficking. The audience will also learn about resources for protecting children on the internet and dealing with sex addiction. Due to the mature subject matter, it is recommended that the audience members be over 18 years of age. Recommended time allotment is 1 to 2 hours.
This presentation provides an in-depth look at the history, tradition, and impact of a “demand culture,” which contributes to the pornification and commodification of women and girls. Audiences will learn about the economics of sex trafficking, how demand is driving the market for victims, and practical actions steps for combatting the demand. Recommended time allotment is 1 hour.
